Ridge NY Yellow Pages

The community of Ridge is located near the South Shore on the northwestern end of the Pine Barrens region in the town of Brookhaven. The town proclaims itself to be the “gateway to the Pine Barrens." One of the earliest settlers here was William “Tangier" Smith, who was allowed to purchase a large tract of land extending from the Carmans River to Southampton in recognition of his service as the mayor of Tangiers in Africa. By 1955, the remaining parts of Smith's estate were primarily located in present-day Ridge.

Ridge is primarily a residential community. The Brookhaven National Laboratory is very close by. Ridge is a great place for children. The community is home to a pumpkin patch for fall festivities, for example. Ridge is also in close proximity to the amenities and attractions offered in its larger community of the town of Brookhaven.
